The very essence of the sauna is creating a relaxing moment that occurs in a specific room with relatively high temperature and humidity than outside. However, this is enough to understand for beginner-level sauna lovers. A perfect sauna has comfy lighting, beautiful look, fragrant aroma, etc.
Currently, the spa and wellness industry has embraced the world sauna wholeheartedly. For Finns, sauna means a traditional sauna or a dry sauna. This post mainly focuses on the two most common types of sauna heaters – wood sauna stoves and electrical sauna heaters.
The sauna has many names like sauna stove, sauna heater, wood-fired stove, electric sauna heater, etc.; but has only one function. A sauna is a unit that heats the stones. This concept seems simple, right. However, yet there are thousands of producers trying to nail in the sauna industry.
Heaters are different that starts from the fueling. The fuel can be of different types like wood, electricity, etc. Though electric sauna heaters didn't even exist a long time ago, the stones were heated up with fire traditionally. Ever since the wood sauna stoves have been around and still serving the needs of sauna enthusiasts from all across the world. In the case of electric sauna heaters, the stones get heated up by the use of electrical heating elements.
From my point of view, the real magic behind a good quality sauna experience is all about the stones. The more stones there , the better quality the sauna is. It’s an easy task for the heater as it requires tolerating high temperatures during extreme conditions. There’s no hard and proof shortcut to perfect experiences as it’s always about stones and proper ventilation.
However, most Finns believe that wood burning sauna stoves are much better than electrical sauna heaters. When the fire burns inside the stove, it needs enough oxygen. This air must find its way from somewhere. The airflow creates amazing ventilation, and the fragrance of a genuine Finnish sauna is simply flamboyant.
If you consider buying a sauna, I would like to share useful suggestions about sauna heaters (even though I am not the right person for the complete project):
1. Always seek professional help:
No matter whether it’s about the sauna heater, ventilation, structure or just anything else about the sauna heater, it’s completely worth it.
2. Make essential choices like:
·The type of heater (wood burning, electrical, other)
·The power of the heater (which depends on the space volume)
·The overall look of the heater
3.Focus on the following important thing:
If you want to go with wood burning sauna stoves, you should know safety distance and smoke flue. Don’t you have a chimney? Ask the professional about the smoke flue options.
4. If you get stuck between wood sauna stoves and electric sauna heaters, it’s highly recommended that you should choose the more powerful one.
5. Try to enjoy each and every minute of time spent inside your sauna.
Bottom Line –
As long as you have qualified people, everything will go on perfectly. Sauna is a hygienic and relaxing way of treating yourself any day of the week. If it’s built properly, you can enjoy it for more years to come.
If you’re wondering about the sauna heater and not really sure about it, I suggest you choose a wood sauna stove as I’ve been using it all while. Every model of wood burning sauna available at Heaters4Saunas is strictly tested and proven to be a good alternative.
Then what about my sauna? I prefer the Timberline Wood Sauna Stove that heats up to 650 cubic feet. It feels so amazing, and I have been using it for a while. So, what’s your favourite sauna heater? Please let us know in the comment section below or on our Facebook and Twitter feeds!
